As a pup, Darkfur was part of the, now extinct, Lake Clan of Otter Lake. The clan was teaching him and his sisters how to hunt, when a plane swooped above them and killed his parents. From that day on, Darkfur has howled for his lost sisters, with no reply.
Later, after the seperation, he lived on his own and learned all of the skills a wolf should know, by himself. One day, Darkfur was exhausted and looking for a carcass. He saw a raven fly above him and he followed. The raven, Mitch, quickly befriended him. He had found the Deep Forest and entered. This is where Darkfur met Foliak. (is it okay if you started as a Deep Forest or a different one?) And now he lives on as a stray, who left his foster clan, The Deep Forest.
